KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- You will work as part
of a team coordinating transportation to ensure prompt and proper movement of
freight while maximizing margins, minimizing risks and meeting all delivery
parameters.
- You will be charged
with developing and maintaining customer relationships.
- You’ll work directly
with customers and carriers negotiating freight rates, sourcing new business
and solving issues as they arise.
- You will source and
qualify new carriers for current and future lanes in an effort to expand our
carrier network.
- Inputting accurate,
time sensitive data into our TMS is required.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven experience as a
dispatcher in a 3PL
- Working knowledge of
port operations and rail yards
- Customer service
experience is a must
- Active listener with
strong organizational skills
- Must have a
willingness to learn and engage with experienced team members
- Ability to work with
little supervision and track multiple processes
- Must have excellent
verbal and written skills
- Demonstrable record as
a creative problem solver
- Must exhibit sound
judgment and critical thinking with an ability to calmly multitask in a fast
paced, ever changing environment
- Must be proficient in
Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word.
- CTB credential is a plus, as is experience in Rose Rocket TMS
