Individuals working in
the driver/warehouse team member role will be responsible to:
Driver Duties
- Drive a 16-foot box truck to various locations
throughout Western New York to pick up donated clothing from bins,
household goods, furniture, appliances, and other miscellaneous items
- Deliver furniture and other household items to Society
of St. Vincent dePaul clients
- Inspect donation bins and report problems
- Briefly inspect trucks for needed repair
- Discern usable from unusable donations (and
occasionally tell donors that we cannot accept their items)
- Clean truck
Warehouse Duties
- Unload trucks of clothing, furniture, appliances, and
miscellaneous items
- Keep warehouse clean, neat, and orderly
- Bring donated items into warehouse from the parking lot
- Assist customers with furniture take out
- Move furniture and other items throughout the warehouse
This position is full
time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
Qualified candidates
will have the following:
- High school diploma or the equivalent
- Valid, clean driver's license
- Ability to drive a 16-foot box truck with a minimum of
six months experience driving for delivery and pick up
- Minimum one year of warehouse experience
- Customer service skills
- Ability to move large furniture with assistance
- Ability to drive a forklift (preferred)
