REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting required.

EXPERIENCE:

  •  Minimum 5 years of work experience within a non-profit environment.
  • Minimum 3 years of staff management experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
  •  Knowledge of accounting best practices in nonprofit financial management and strong working knowledge of General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and 501 (c)(3) provisions.
  •  Advanced knowledge of Excel, QuickBooks, Blackbaud, Windows-nonprofit desktop edition (or similar) and ADP payroll system.
  •  High degree of integrity and excellent judgment; maintain confidentiality.
  •  Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously with excellent follow through and attention to detail.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Runs bi-payroll and resolves any payroll issues; Ensures time and attendance is accurate and in accordance with IIB policies; Ensures IIB is compliant with federal, state, and local laws and regulations; Calculates PTO time and ensures correct adjustments are made in ADP; Works with Director of Human Resources on staff changes in ADP.
  • Supervises the day-to-day operational duties of the accounting staff and interns.
  • Works with human resources on staff performance issues and disciplinary action.
  • Oversees vendor relationships and maintenance of vendor accounts payable.
  • Assistance with customer relationships and maintenance of accounts receivable.
  • Reconciles all bank accounts and credit cards on a monthly basis.
  • Handles bank deposits on a weekly basis.
  • Works with departmental directors to provide continuous accurate accounting of the financial reporting system.
