Account Specialist I- Administration

Parks Recreation and Tourism is seeking an individual with a background in accounting, customer service, and account reconciliation.

The primary functions of the Account Specialist I is revenue collections, reconciliations, auditing and monitoring of funds collected within the Parks, Recreation and Tourism Department. The position provides internal and external customer service in an ethical and professional manner.

Other responsibilities of the Account Specialist I:

Reconciles change fund, cash drawers, credit transactions and cash collection reports to financial records to include identifying, documenting, and presenting solutions to address variances and errors.

Develops work methods, manuals, standards of operations and provides instruction and training to staff on Cash Handling Best Practices.

Generates requisitions, processes payments for invoices, and refunds.

Processes and reconciles procurement card transactions.

Analyzes and researches accounts in assigned area and provides reports to management.

Works with department’s accounting team to implement work methods, quality controls and procedures; analyzes protocols and makes recommendations on appropriate updates/changes.

Assists staff and the public with inquires and/or other concerns related to collection of revenues and/or payment inquiries within Parks, Recreation and Tourism.

Collects, enters, updates and maintains supplier and customer account information.

Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks to meet crucial deadlines.

Ability to reconcile cash collection reports to financial records.

Attention to detail and good customer service skills are required.

Other duties as assigned.
