Essential Job Functions

Event Planning and Management

  • In partnership with the Chief Program Officer, develop and execute a strategic plan for member events, including conferences, summits, webinars, and other member gatherings.
  • Oversee all aspects of event logistics, including venue selection and procurement, vendor management, budgeting, and on-site coordination.
  • Collaborate with communications teams to promote events and ensure high attendance and engagement.

Training Program Oversight

  • Design and implement, or procure, comprehensive training offerings that meet the needs of our diverse member base and align with the Texas Standards for Children’s Advocacy Centers.
  • Oversee training faculty and develop partnerships with internal and external subject matter experts to ensure relevant and impactful training content is delivered consistently.
  • Manages procurement, contracting, and budgeting for training program.
  • Utilize various delivery methods, including in-person, virtual, and hybrid formats, to maximize accessibility and effectiveness.
  • Day-of logistical support for on-site or virtual trainings as needed.

Member Engagement

  • Foster strong relationships with members to understand their needs and preferences.
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase member participation and satisfaction in events and training programs.
  • Collect and analyze feedback to continuously improve the quality and relevance of offerings.

Leadership and Collaboration

  • Lead a team of event and training professionals, providing guidance and support to achieve departmental goals.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to enhance the overall member experience.
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices to ensure our events and training programs remain innovative and competitive.

Minimum Educational and Professional Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Education, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in event planning, training development and oversight, or a related field, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in event management software, learning management systems, and virtual event platforms.
  • Creative and strategic thinker with a passion for delivering exceptional member experiences.
