Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Direct Box Office staff, ensuring online ticketing, call center, and group sales operations are run with the highest level of efficiency and customer service.
  • Support internal stakeholders and external box office clients by building and maintaining events, tracking inventory and sales, and managing special requests such as promo codes, complimentary tickets, and consigned tickets.
  • Manage contracts and relationships for external cultural organizations through a centralized box office program.
  • Handle accounting and financial operations including deposits, refunds, event ticketing estimates, settlements, cash/check reconciliation, recordkeeping, and reporting.
  • Ensure proper utilization, maintenance, training, and support for all ticket office technology including Tessitura, validation scanners, credit card machines, phone tree system, ticket printers, and mail machines.
  • Collaborate with programming and sales to create contracts for shows, rentals, and co-productions, and review all event and service contracts for compliance.
  • Coordinate with operations, production, and Front of House staff to ensure all ticketed events run smoothly.
  • Ensure ADA compliant ticketing practices are met and available via all sales channels.
  • Creatively resolve problems and monitor issues through to resolution.
  • Assist with the development of strategic planning and budgeting for the Box Office function.
  • Establish sales goals and ensure those goals are met.
  • Attend departmental/team meetings and handle other duties and projects as needed.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • 7-10 years of experience with ticketing sales and customer service.
  • At least 3 years of experience managing employees in an online ticketing environment.
  • Proficient Tessitura user with an understanding of constituent records, system tables and security, facility builds and price zones, production elements and performances, pricing and modes of sale, TNEW programming, and advanced ticket order processing.
