This position calls for an individual with interpersonal and organizational skills to supervise or lead others as directed, including selecting or recommending selection, training, assigning and evaluating work, counseling, disciplining and terminating or recommending termination. The individual will also:
- Oversee all shift operations; monitor ongoing actions and intervene in difficult situations; evaluate procedures and initiate changes as required.
- Coordinate activities and notify appropriate personnel, agencies, and the media in emergency situations in accordance with policy and procedures.
- Answer emergency service telephones, record essential information and dispatch units from appropriate agencies such as Police Department, Fire Department, or other emergency response activities.
- Answer/respond to administrative telephones, other communications devices, and citizen requests or complaints; decide on appropriate courses of action, dispatch assistance as required, or refer to appropriate service agency.
- Provide assistance to emergency services personnel by answering questions, researching information, or performing other services.
- Oversee maintenance of various logs, charts, and recordings to provide records of all emergency and non-emergency actions for follow-up investigative, administrative, or legal actions.
- Oversee operation and maintenance of emergency and non-emergency equipment such as computers, printers, playback systems, CAD, and other systems.
- Oversee maintenance of an immediately available library of emergency reference material such as computer manuals, maps, repair logs, wrecker logs, policy/procedure SOPs, policy memos and other reference material.
- Conduct and/or attend staff meetings, participate in and provides technical and other training; prepare reports and other administrative tasks as required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
