Substitute Bridge Operator

The Bridges Division of Public Works is seeking a motivated and reliable individual to operate bridges and accommodate water traffic on an as needed basis (up to 25 hours/week). This position will be responsible for monitoring waterway and roadway traffic, listening for signals, operating bridge equipment, preparing paperwork, and cleaning and maintaining equipment. Requires the ability to walk up to 900' on an inclined walkway and up to 60' vertically up a stair tower, ability to operate control panels in a set sequence, and ability to hand crank traffic gate arms in the event of a malfunction.
