Licensed Clinician II tasks include:
- Provide direct supervision to clinicians (counselors) on a daily, weekly, biweekly and monthly basis, including selecting or recommending selection, training, assigning and evaluating work, coaching, counseling, disciplining and recommending termination. This may include providing licensure supervision based upon board requirements to support professional development.
- Provides individual, group, and family counseling and/or crisis intervention for assigned cases with mental health & substance use disorders, intellectual disabilities or developmental delays. Utilizes evidenced-based practices to support client treatment outcomes. Consults with colleagues as well as other agencies and service providers such as social services, schools, physicians, or probation officers, in accordance with confidentiality guidelines. Links to additional levels of care as appropriate.
- Completes annual master assessments, diagnosing individuals based on presenting symptoms and related behaviors, and triaging individuals to the appropriate departments within the agency for ongoing services and treatment.
- Provides appropriate clinical documentation and assures that assessments and correspondence to outside contacts are clinically appropriate and completed thoroughly and in a timely manner. Maintains records for area of responsibility in accordance with departmental, state, and federal regulations, laws, policies, and procedures.
- Develops and implements person-centered, recovery-oriented, outcome-based individualized treatment plans; makes referrals for other care providers as needed; documents accordingly.
- Completes required annual compliance training, participates actively and constructively in program and professional development. May participate in special projects within the agency for expanding services or improving processes and procedures.
- Acts as alpha (essential) personnel for the City of Chesapeake during periods of City emergency, manning shelters and/or coordinating with other City departments in programs such as the dispensing site.
