Water Production Maintenance Worker

Public Utilities is seeking an innovative and highly motivated maintenance worker who has the ability to conduct and maintain grounds housekeeping, hedge trimming, grass cutting, and weed eating, clearing fence lines, and cutting large fields.

The maintenance worker will need to maintain and operate a zero turn mower, tractor, and ground maintenance tools such as a back pack blower.

Other responsibilities of the maintenance worker include:

  • Must have the ability to perform routine preventive maintenance on equipment such as adding oil or checking nuts and bolts for tightness, cleaning, painting and re-labeling.

  • Must have the ability to perform indoor maintenance including painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical or mechanical repairs, fixture moving or repair, and cleaning buildings, electrical rooms, and mechanical rooms.

  • Must also have the ability to perform outdoor maintenance including concrete work, painting, roof replacing or repairs, structure repair, and other. Capable of performing monthly Inspections as assigned.

  • Be able to assist with remote sites crews with equipment repairs, meter readings and administration of water treatment chemicals.

  • Be able to perform Stand by duties as assigned.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Note:

Employees may be expected to work hours in excess of, and/or outside of, their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies. Emergency operations support work and work locations may be outside of normal job duties.
