Storekeeper I- Warehouse/Admin

The primary responsibilities of Storekeeper position are to maintain and execute daily operations and activities of the Parks, Recreation and Tourism and Public Works Facilities warehouse facility, and provide customer service to department staff, as well as partnering city departments that also utilize warehouse services. The Storekeeper will be accountable for material handling, process received stock, prepare orders for delivery/pick-up, inventory control, load and unload supplies and stock, and maintain warehouse safety standards. Routine tasks include but are not limited to:

Provides customer service that meets the City’s Customer Service Initiative. Interacts with internal customers, the public in person, by telephone, and electronically, while following set customer service standards. Answers telephone, assists staff, delivery agents and suppliers; and provides information concerning warehouse operations, process, procedures and policies, responds to inquiries and requests.

Checks and records quantity and quality of inventory items received against invoices and reports discrepancies; unpacks and stores items; enters items into database.

Initiates purchase orders for replacement of standard stock items in accordance with established procedures; follows up on outstanding orders.

Assembles, records, packages, and delivers stock items to user departments; issues stock and tools to individuals.

Drives truck to deliver supplies/materials to various city facility locations and may pick up parts/equipment from facilities or suppliers. Operates forklift, hand truck, and pallet jack to safely move, stage, palletizing and secure materials/supplies.

Restocks shelves and routinely cleans inventory storage area, maintain warehouse safety, reports decencies to supervisor. Performs stock rotation using the FIFO inventory system.

Initiates return requests of supplies and materials to suppliers and proper disposal of expired, damaged, and deadstock. Documents and reports inventory shrinkage and loss.

Prepares and maintain routine records, reports, forms, and logs related to inventory, and warehouse operations. May input and maintain databases such as Maximo. Assists with taking of periodic and special inventories; prepares periodic stock inventory list.

Maintains records and monitors employee access to warehouse.

May be assigned special projects such as building crates, building shelves, assembling storage units, organizing inventory storage areas.

Receives, checks, issues, and stores uniforms.

Performs other related duties as assigned.
