Driver I

The purpose of this position is to operate a city vehicle to provide courier services between four Treasurers Office Locations across Chesapeake, and perform routine delivery/processing of Mail, Invoices and Tax Bills, occasionally requiring the use of mail processing equipment. The position is responsible for assigned vehicle and performs courier services for assigned area of responsibility. The position works according to department procedures; decides how and when to do things under general supervision. It may involve work in excess of regularly scheduled hours when required by operational necessity.
