Primary responsibilities of our Certified Family Nurse Practitioner include:
  • Providing clinical assessment, care management, and services including Sexually Transmitted Infections, General Gynecology, Immunizations, offsite clinical services, and occasional Prenatal and Pediatric patients.
  • Certified Family Nurse Practitioner provides services that include routine health maintenance, treating episodic problems, managing some chronic problems, determining which patients need referral for physician management, prescribing devices or medications as covered in the Practice Agreement for Prescriptive Authority, ordering diagnostic lab tests or procedures when needed & interpreting results, and initiating appropriate treatment or referrals.
  • Other responsibilities of the Certified Family Nurse Practitioner position include providing cross-coverage for other public health clinical services as needed. Maintains and regularly reviews the District clinical pharmaceutical formulary for ordering and required documentation related to pharmaceutical storage and security.

Seeking a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner candidate with: Excellent patient assessment skills; Ability to develop patient management plans; Superior clinical judgment with ability to work independently within limits of practice and when to seek consultation; Ability to communicate well with staff, referral clinicians, patients and the public; Knowledge of Clinical Medicine and Sexually Transmitted Infections/Family Planning Provision of Care; Familiarity with public health mission; and Excellent computer/data analysis skills.
