Description: The purpose of the class is to perform routine semi-skilled and manual work in connection with mosquito control tasks. The class works according to set procedures and guidelines under direct supervision. This position reports to the Field Supervisor, District Supervisor and Director.

The tasks listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional tasks related to the type of work of the class as necessary.

- Works with crews engaged in sources reduction activities and the application of pesticides for the control of mosquitoes, as directed and performs work as a laborer.
- Performs tasks as necessary in the maintenance of Commission property and equipment.
- Employs good customer service skills to interact with the general public; completes citizen service requests, and applies mosquito control measures, or refers to supervisor for mosquito control decisions.
- Operates Commission vehicles and equipment, such as pesticide application equipment, larviciding and adulticiding trucks, weed eaters and chain saws, etc., as directed.
- Walks and clears numerous ditches and drainage ways of brush, fallen leaves, trees and undergrowth to maintain drainage ways.
- Operates hand tools (such as shovels, pitch forks, bush hooks and wheelbarrows), and motorized equipment, to maintain drainage sites.
- Prepares daily work reports and completes additional forms and reports, as required.
- Performs additional tasks in the course of mosquito control operations as directed.
