**Part of a Career Progression Plan**
You will be making a difference by accomplishing the following:
- monitor operation of pump stations and respond to any report of malfunction to restore operation.
- Monitor condition of pump station facilities and equipment; perform preventive maintenance and report any malfunctions or required maintenance.
- Repair or replace any malfunctioning component or equipment in accordance with policy and procedures.
- clean and maintain facilities and areas such as picking up trash and cutting bushes and grass.
- maintain logs and records documenting maintenance activities. Perform routine office tasks and other related duties as assigned.
The Equipment Operator I position is deemed an Alpha position so you must have the ability to work in any emergency situations due to weather or operational issues. Must be available inclement weather, mandatory standby duty, and overtime as needed.
Position requires a Class A CDL with tanker endorsement within 6 months of hire and is subject to Random Drug/Alcohol Testing. Some night work may also be required.
Employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies.
