Chesapeake City Pump Station Mechanic I job duties include:
- Monitors and inspects the condition and operation of pump stations and respond to any reports malfunction.
- Performs preventative maintenance, trouble shoots and makes repairs to restore pump station operations.
- Pump Station Mechanic I operates specialized motor equipment to support City operations such as pumping, hauling, wet well cleaning and other specialized operations.
- Cleans and maintains facilities and areas such as picking up trash and cutting bushes and grass.
- Maintains logs and records, documenting maintenance activities as well as routine office tasks and other related duties as assigned.
