LIBRARIES ADMIN
Do you have a passion for public service and working with youth? Chesapeake Public Library (CPL) is seeking outgoing, compassionate, and detail oriented individuals to join our diverse team dedicated to providing an inclusive environment for lifelong learning, empowerment and creating moments of discovery for our community.
If you have experience working with children of all ages and you love creating programs, demonstrating technology, sharing reading experiences and exploring areas of research with youth, the Indian River Library has a position that will provide the challenging work you are looking for. This full-time Library Assistant II may be asked to work at any public service desk (Circulation, Adult Services, or Youth and Family Services), but will be primarily in youth and family services in a library that serves a large tween and teen group during the school year.

Responsibilities include: planning and delivering a diverse selection of programs, including Summer Reading and STEM/STEAM, for children, tweens and teens both inside the library and through outreach; working with and mentoring unsupervised youth; using library computers and technology to help patrons find materials and services to meet their unique needs; and participating in CPL system-wide committees and initiatives.
The weekly schedule is varied and includes day, evening, and weekend hours and may also include after-hours programming.
