Waste Management Operator I

The Waste Management Division of Public Works is seeking dependable and self-motivated individuals to deliver essential quality services to the citizens of Chesapeake. The candidate selected for this position will operate Rear Loader Refuse truck and supervise small crew on back; will operate mechanisms for compacting, loading and dumping, and will help crew with heavy loads up to 75 pounds throughout the day. We are seeking individuals who are able to follow important written and oral instructions, and who will be able to perform operator maintenance of refuse vehicle and pre/post inspection of truck.
