Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform fabricating operations to produce high quality parts by setting up, editing and operating designated machines.
• Operate material handling equipment and 10 and 20 ton overhead cranes.
• Pick and pull material according to work orders
• Load and unload trucks and machines
• Perform first piece and periodic inspections utilizing work order, tape measure, calipers, gauges and squares.
• Correctly stack, tag and package all products as required by company or customer standards. Deburring of parts, as needed.
• Perform basic machine maintenance.
• Maintain housekeeping and ensure that it is clean and well organized for on coming shift.
• Complete all required paperwork and computer data entry.
• Continuous process and performance improvement.
• Cut orders by due date to ensure 100% on time delivery.
• Aid with maintaining inventory accuracy above 95% as evidenced by cycle counts.
• Must adhere to all safety rules and regulations. Attention to safety must be adhered to at all times. Unsafe practices or situations must be reported to a supervisor immediately.

Education and/or Experience

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Working knowledge of all measuring tools/equipment.
• Previous experience with industrial machinery, forklifts, and cranes is an asset
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, work orders and procedure manuals as well as customer supplied blue prints.
• Computer knowledge required.
• Good math skills are essential. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; Must have an acceptable score on the company basic math and measuring test.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions. Ability to work shift work, overtime and weekends if required.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment and keep up with the daily demands of production.
