Our Development & Permits department is seeking an Intern – Development & Permits Engineer to provide technical and administrative support to the Development Engineering and Construction division.
The intern will be provided with valuable experience in the Engineering & Construction Division.
A successful candidate for this position will be able to do the following:

- Have practical understanding using mathematics involving fractions, percentages, proportions, and geometric construction.
- Assist in the preparation and review of engineering design, reports, construction plans, for private development drainage and transportation improvement projects;
- Research, review and analyze data and be able to process project information via computer software.
- Perform engineering duties such as project site investigations, attend development meetings and interact with other City employees.
- Provide customer service-related functions with assisting the general public, customers regarding construction and development questions and administrative assistance.
- Reviews various Right-of-Way permit applications for permit issuance.
- Prepare and maintain various reports and records.
- Have a general understanding of civil construction and a basic knowledge of engineering and construction practices and principles.
- Have a basic understanding of the phases of development, land use, and construction processes.
