The City of Chesapeake seeks a summer intern interested in learning the ins and outs of public finance and investing. The intern will work closely with the Assistant Director of Finance for Debt & Strategic Planning.
The selected intern will provide assistance with the following:
The City of Chesapeake seeks a summer intern interested in learning the ins and outs of public finance and investing. The intern will work closely with the Assistant Director of Finance for Debt & Strategic Planning.
The selected intern will provide assistance with the following:
- Assist in the analysis of the refinancing of Chesapeake Transportation System, 2012 Series A Revenue bonds.
- Participate in bond pricing calls with municipal advisor, underwriters and City officials.
- Gather budgetary, financial and economic information on the City to create Financial Trends report.
- Participate in the Investment Policy update process. Participate in Investment Committee meetings which will guide the creation of a comprehensive investment program for the City's $1 billion investment portfolio.
