The City of Chesapeake Public Works Department, Facility Maintenance Division is currently accepting applications for one (1) full-time Facility Maintenance Technician II position.

Chesapeake Public Works, Facility Maintenance Division is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to maintain and repair various building structural systems (roofs, doors/windows, building exterior/interior elements, interior finishes, etc.); perform office renovation and construction; construct decks and porches; etc. Supervise junior technicians and contractors performing similar structural tasks as described above, train same in proper procedures and worksite safety.

Job Description:
- Perform troubleshooting/maintenance/repair of structural systems at City facilities (roofs, doors/windows, building exterior/interior elements, interior finishes, etc.).
- Perform office renovation and construction; construct decks and porches, etc.
- Supervise junior technicians and contractors performing similar structural tasks, train junior technicians in proper maintenance procedures and techniques and worksite safety.
- Perform troubleshooting/maintenance/repair on building systems other than
structural (light HVAC, lighting, plumbing, etc.). - Assist in the budget preparation process, write work orders, locate and order parts,
and maintain maintenance files/records. - Participate in process improvement activities and workgroups.
