Responsibilities
- Performing roadway design under
the guidance of a Senior Engineer
- Detailing and drafting of
construction plans using MicroStation or AutoCAD
- Experience in the design of
roadway geometrics; intersections; sidewalks/trails, pavement design,
minor drainage; erosion and sedimentation control and work zone traffic
control.
- Preparation of Quantities, Cost
Estimates and Specifications
- Performing tasks according to
assigned schedule and budget
- Familiarity with NYSDOT, NYSTA,
County/City design standards and development processes
- Flexibility with regard to
office environmental (Highway Design) or field work
- (Construction Inspection/
Stormwater Inspections).
Qualifications
- BS in Civil Engineering
(Transportation)
- Engineer-in-Training
Certification preferred, with a desire to obtain PE
- O to 4 years of experience on
New York Roadway, Sidewalk or Trail
- Proficiency in MicroStation or
AutoCAD,
- A Positive mindset and a good work ethic with a desire to learn and the ability to work in a collaborative environment.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Maintain a valid driver's
license with a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for final consideration
- Read, write, and understand
plans and directions given in the English language
- Basic computer skills with the ability to create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents, create Outlook emails and utilize SharePoint and Microsoft Teams to communicate with other team members
