The City of Chesapeake Public Works Department, Facility Maintenance Division is currently accepting applications for one full-time Facility Maintenance Technician I - position.

Chesapeake Public Works is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to maintain and repair building systems, such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, locks, lighting, alarm systems, etc. in all City facilities;

Chesapeake Public Works is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to maintain and repair building systems, such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, locks, lighting, alarm systems, etc. in all City facilities;
Tasks include, but are not limited to:
- Perform maintenance and repair on one or more types of building equipment, such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, alarm systems, door lock/key systems, lighting, etc. This may include overseeing contractor work and providing quality assurance inspection of such work.
- Perform various types of normal structural maintenance and some minor construction in a helper role, repair shingle and built-up roofing systems in a helper role;
- Maintain necessary city records and purchase materials.
