Management Analyst [Police Department]
POLICE ADMINISTRATIVE
The Chesapeake Police Department is seeking a Management Analyst whose area of responsibility is to analyze programs and provide administrative support for management and operations within the Police Chief's Administrative Offices.
- The Management Analyst researches, analyzes, and summarizes information relating to assigned area of responsibility.
- May serve as project manager for studies, plans, and programs to coordinate various activities of the police department.
- Researches available resources in order to complete various assignments.
- The Management Analyst coordinates Police Department federal, state, and special grants including preparing grant applications, post award submissions, preparing City Council agenda items, quarterly status reports, desk reviews/audits and grant closeout procedures.
- Constructs and administers internal surveys for the Police Department.
- Prepares reports, correspondence, and other documentation to provide support for specific projects or assignments.
- The Management Analyst oversees special projects and dissemination of data, coordinates efforts among other analysts and may train other analysts as needed.
- Reviews and maintains charts files and other police documents.
- Assists Police Department Command staff, other departments and the general public with various tasks, inquiries, or concerns.
- Supervises staff including selecting or recommending selection, training, assigning and evaluating work.
- Attends or conducts meetings to exchange information; attends in-service training professional classes, seminars, or conference to improve professional skills.
- Responsible for projects such as the Annual Report outlining the department's achievements and productivity over the past year with charts, graphics and an overall appealing design as it is published on the webpage and distributed to the main public library as a statistical resource guide
