The purpose of this position is to provide direct addition services for assigned cases in the Office-based Addiction Treatment (OBAT) division of psychiatric services. The position is responsible for individual and group counseling, intake referrals, assessment, treatment planning, psychotherapy, crisis intervention, training and reporting. Typical tasks of the Licensed Clinician (Counselor) include performing service recipient comprehensive substance use assessment to determine service needs, including review of other assessments and background information. You will develop and implement individualized service plans for OBAT services and make referrals for other care providers as needed and document accordingly.
This Licensed Clinician (Counselor) position will provide individual counseling, group counseling, psychotherapy and crisis intervention for assigned service recipients in the OBAT program. Performance of care coordination services including consultations with colleagues as well as other agencies and service providers such as addiction treatment centers, social services, physicians and probation officers. The Licensed Clinician (Counselor) will also maintain records for area of responsibility in accordance with departmental, state and federal regulations, laws, policies and procedures; process daily paperwork including progress notes, insurance forms, service logs and billing reports. Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual consumer reports will also be required.
This position meets with service recipients regularly to review progress, develop intervention strategies and adjust treatment plans accordingly. Attending treatment team meetings and other professional meetings for care coordination, updating treatment plans as need based on team recommendation are also areas of responsibility. The Licensed Clinician (Counselor) will also be responsible to review, comprehend, and adhere to corporate compliance and HIPAA policies and procedures as well as reporting inconsistencies or discrepancies.
