The City of Chesapeake is seeking a Cybersecurity Operations Lead to manage day-to-day cybersecurity operations and assist in implementing new cybersecurity technologies and practices. This position will be integral in ensuring the City's cybersecurity program is meeting compliance requirements, embracing security industry best practices, and embracing innovation to reduce risks and defend the City against cyber threats.
The City of Chesapeake is seeking a Cybersecurity Operations Lead to manage day-to-day cybersecurity operations and assist in implementing new cybersecurity technologies and practices. This position will be integral in ensuring the City's cybersecurity program is meeting compliance requirements, embracing security industry best practices, and embracing innovation to reduce risks and defend the City against cyber threats.
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Monitor the environment for cyber threats, triage and investigate security alerts and events in response to potential cybersecurity incidents.
- Develop cybersecurity program aligning with cybersecurity best practices and standards such as NIST Cyber Security Framework (CSF), NIST 800-53, PCI and HIPPA.
- Planning, implementing, managing, monitoring, and upgrading security measures for the protection of the City data, systems, and networks.
- Operate and maintain Intrusion Detection/Prevention, Data Loss Prevention, Endpoint Security, Network Security Monitoring, and Security Information and Event Management.
- Prepares and delivers security operations status reports, collects and analyzes security performance and metrics, and trends, and reports on the status of security incidents.
- Lead, supervise and motivate cybersecurity team applying technical skills and techniques to solve dynamic problems.
