Summary

Diagnoses equipment failures and service and makes repairs to the Company's fleet and equipment in compliance with OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) specifications and DOT US Dept. of Transportation) safety regulations and requirements.

    Night Position Wednesday-Saturday

 

 

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Diagnoses company's fleet and equipment failures and makes repairs in compliance with OEM specifications and DOT safety regulations and requirements. Disposes of failed parts, fluids and other waste in an environmentally conscious manner. Ensures work orders are properly completed and work repair task description is accurate to work completed. Removes, cleans, repairs, re-installs and adjusts vehicle components proficiently. Higher level Fleet Techs gain increased knowledge of different vehicle components. Routinely performs preventive maintenance and tire maintenance. Performs road calls and emergency services as necessary. Performs daily safety inspections and minimal reworks while maintaining production standards. Responsible for covering the shop when Supervisor is out.

Minimum Education

High School or equivalent

Experience Requirements

2 - 4 years experience. Continuous ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) and OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) re-certification is required. Requires a minimum of two ASE certifications. New associates must earn one ASE certification within their first six months of employment and must earn the remaining one certification within their first year of employment. Must have a valid driver's' license. Must have demonstrated experience monitoring and meeting PM schedules and operating repair shop equipment. Good written and oral communication skills. Must have excellent communication skills, bringing demonstrated abilities of building solid relationships with all levels. Some computer skills. Must have a valid drivers license.

Experience Preferred

A CDL license is strongly preferred

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

Intermittent sitting, standing, stooping, crouching, walking, lifting of light and heavy objects. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 lbs. Required to sit, stand, walk use hands to finger, handle, feel, talk, hear, to reach with hands or arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and smell. Must be able to lay on back on a mechanic's dolly to work underneath motor vehicle equipment. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Associate must be free of any conditions which result in temporary loss of consciousness or ability to reason. Work is performed with exposure to noise, chemicals, noxious odors gases, poor ventilation, inclement weather, dirt, grease, dust and machinery with moving parts requiring use of protective devices.
