Summary
A successful IT/Controls System Technician must have a thorough knowledge of computer software and hardware and a variety of internet applications, networks, and operating systems. The ideal candidate will also have great troubleshooting abilities and attention to detail.
Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide support for all information and manufacturing system operations activities (multi-shift), including computer and network operations, troubleshooting, data control/security, documentation, software version control, change control, security, backup/recovery, and system performance.
- Label printers, barcode scanners, and label design.
- Working with in-motion scales and bench scales.
- Power BI and SQL is a plus.
- Programming, implementation, testing, and documentation of a control system which may include programming of one or more parts of the control system. This would include advanced programming of the PLC, and/or the HMI (Human Machine Interface), and/or databases.
- Configuration, installation, and troubleshooting of PC/PLC hardware and software, and networks.
- Other duties as applicable as necessary.
Minimum Education
Associates degree in Computer Science or Information Technology.
Experience Requirements
2 year related work experience or in the absence of an Associate degree.
Experience Preferred
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
- Position is mostly sedentary but may require occasional moving between buildings.
- May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another.
- May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.
- May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db.
- Must wear and use protective and safety equipment for the job as directed by the company
