Transportation Specialist

Key Accountabilities
- Schedule and track inbound and outbound shipments according to customers’ requirements, ensuring on-time deliveries
- Maintain and expand network of
logistics providers
- Obtain and negotiate rates with
service providers (carriers, storage facilities etc)
- Identify and implement supply
chain efficiencies
- Create/ review shipping
documents and maintain records
- Manage inventory and monthly
reconciliations
- Handle import/export related
documents and processes
- Support sales staff with
customer service and supplier relations
- Work in a team environment,
communicating as required with all personnel.
- Take on additional duties and responsibilities, as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or comparable experience
- Solid Logistics background in
the steel and metals industry
- Experience in securing inland
transportation and warehousing (truck, barge, rail)
- Solid understanding of
IncoTerms 2020
- Experience with import process
is a plus
- Excellent written and verbal
communication skills
- Solid computer skills -
Microsoft Office (O365)
- Excellent time management and
organization skills
- Ability to work under pressure.
