Summary

Maintains, services and performs repairs on equipment in order to ensure proper operation of production equipment and electrical systems. Setup, monitor, adjust, and perform routine service to production equipment and processes to maintain Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) standards. Standard hours are 4:30p-finsh, with change/overtime scheduled as need.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1.   Set-up and Inspect Equipment and related components for proper operation. Prepare equipment for sanitation. 

2.   Perform specific duties during production hours such as lubrication, cleaning, changeovers, adjustments, blade replacement, etc.

3.   Observe/adjust equipment for proper operation during production and/or report problems to management

4.   Perform Daily and Weekly Preventative Maintenance on all equipment in the processing area. Assist in equipment modifications or rebuilds to ensure the equipment is running efficiently to meet all departmental goals.

5.   Maintain work and production area during production and on weekends as needed and / or as scheduled as well as complete necessary paperwork needed during production

6.   Adhere to all safety requirements including preventing and reporting unsafe acts and conditions. Give accurate pass down information to your counterparts from the opposite shift (Machine operators, Process tech 2 and management) of any issues from your shift.

7. Communicate to Process tech 2 and management if you will be late OR absent at least 2 hours in advance for regular workdays and/ or weekend PM’s AND must not exceed 5 occurrences as it will result to a demotion.

Minimum Education

Read/write English, math, and analytical skills

Experience Requirements

2 - 4 years preferred.  Reading, writing and analytical skills are required. Must have all personal tools at all times and be able to use and operate hand tools and industrial shop equipment.

Experience Preferred

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

Position is active. On the plant floor activities such as troubleshooting and re-design of existing systems are routine. May need to move equipment occasionally. May need to access files, supplies and equipment. Position requires an associate to have the ability to move throughout the complex and all facilities. .When in a plant environment: Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces. May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity. May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db. May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility. Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
