Education and/or Equivalent Experience:
Education and/or Equivalent Experience:
- Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent plus four (4) years of experience in a field related to road and bridge inspection experience and/or utility construction or building inspections.
- Education may substitute for experience up to two (2) years.
Licenses and Certifications Required:
- Building Inspectors:
- Certifications required by Department Career Development Plan
- Valid Texas Class C Driver’s License.
- Certification/license may be required by trade.
Combination Inspector
Education and/or Equivalent Experience:
- Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent, plus four (4) years of experience in a field related to road and bridge inspection experience and/or utility construction or building inspections.
- Education may substitute for experience up to two (2) years.
Licenses or Certifications:
- Valid Texas Class C Driver License.
- One of the following:
- R5 Residential Combination Inspection Certificate or all certifications that make up the equivalent R5 combination: Residential Building Inspector, Residential Electrical Inspector, Residential Mechanical Inspector and Residential Plumbing Inspector.
- C8 Combination Inspection Certificate or all certifications that make up the equivalent of the C8 combination: Residential Building Inspector, Commercial Building Inspector, Residential Mechanical Inspector, Commercial Mechanical Inspector, Residential Electrical Inspector, Commercial Electrical Inspector, Residential Plumbing Inspector and Commercial Plumbing Inspector.
