Intern - Information Technology - Systems Security
IT CYBER SECURITY SVCS
The City of Chesapeake is accepting applications for a spring 2024 internship in Information Technology (IT) providing systems security support. The internship will provide valuable experience in the following areas:
- Responds to end-user security requests via enterprise customer service management system.
- Documents and reviews security requirements, standards, and procedures.
- Assists with vendor risk management program.
- Assists with responding to requests for computer security information and reports from both internal and external customers.
- Conducts research into problems in the field of computer hardware and software with a focus on system security and vulnerability.
- Assists with conducing security assessments.
- Assists with developing internal cybersecurity communications site.
- Reviews security logs.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Students participating in the Internship Program will be responsible for the following :
- Providing their own transportation to and from work,
- Arriving at the work site at the time designated by the work site supervisor.
- Performing the tasks assigned by the vocational instructor/coordinator and the work site supervisor in an efficient manner.
- Demonstrating honesty, punctuality, courtesy, a cooperative attitude, appropriate dress, and a willingness to learn.
- Conforming to the guidelines of the internship work site.
