We are actively seeking a hardworking, energetic, self-starter with a background in technical/veterinary nutrition to join our Animal Nutrition team in Salisbury, MD as a Science and Research Intern. Perdue's 10-week Summer Internship program is designed to combine knowledge learned in the classroom with meaningful, real-world experiences.
Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The Science and Research Intern will play a role in our research and scientific endeavors. The intern will closely collaborate with our PhD researchers on projects related to veterinary nutrition science. The responsibilities will include:
- Conduct research
- Analyze data
- Assist in the formulation of nutrition plans for various animal species
Minimum Education
- Rising Junior or Senior currently pursuing a Bachelors degree at an accredited university in a relevant field of study.
- 3.0 GPA or higher
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
- Position is mostly sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings. May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another. May need to access files, supplies and equipment.
- May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity. May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db. to 110 db.
