Job Description Summary:

 

Gruber machine operators are responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the polymer concrete automated mixing equipment. The Operator is required to take care of all machine-specific functions such as configuring the equipment, loading, and operating the machine, and optimizing the machine capability. They need to ensure that the machine works at its full capacity, oversee its maintenance, and perform and assist in timely quality checks. They should be a self-starter and should be willing to undergo training if need be, and to understand the operations of new equipment or procedures.

  • Operate complex machinery safely, accurately, and efficiently
  • Meet the production fulfillment needs of internal and external customers
  • Maintain high standards of company procedures and codes of conduct
  • Uphold a manufacturing process that is safe, efficient, and sanitary

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Ensure the machine is regularly checked and cleaned and remain in safe and efficient operating condition
  • Monitor and control the machine performance and settings. Maintain adequate amounts of materials such as rock, calcium, sand, resin and catalyst. Have aggregate bins filled and ready for production daily
  • Follow production instructions, whether written or verbal
  • Operate machinery in a consistently safe manner
  • Maintain 5S housekeeping of area and return to ideal state daily
  • Feed raw materials into semi-automated machines and monitor the mixing process for optimal performance
  • Fix any minor issues or malfunctions that may occur
  • Check the output of the machines and identify any issues. Report production issues immediately
  • Maintain high quality of machine-produced outputs and ensure finished parts meet quality requirements
  • Manually move molds, trowel and level concrete mix, place fiberglass and foam where needed. Demold parts and maintain proper mold maintenance

 

Requirements:

 

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Prior experience as a machine operator
  • Able to obtain a forklift certification
  • Strong knowledge of a heavy duty and high-speed machinery
  • Strong ability to use measurement tools
  • Good understanding of production procedures and best practices
  • Excellent knowledge of safety methods and hazard regulations
  • Ability to read manuals, blueprints, and handbooks
  • Good physical stamina and keen attention to detail
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs and stand for entire shift
