Summary
To ensure the grounds, storm water drainage, and secondary containment areas in and around the Cofield Soybean Plant meet or exceed environment compliance requirements. The position will also support operations as needed in cleanup and housekeeping efforts.
Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintain and clean outside areas, continually minimizing material that is exposed to storm water
- Ensure all storm water drainage screens are maintained
- Maintain containment areas and pump out as necessary, according to SPCC plans
- Train in PIT operation and safely operate Perdue equipment including, but not limited to: forklift, dump truck, and sweeper
- Dump all hoppers to minimize spillage of material on the ground
- Assist in equipment and building cleanup
- Assist in cleaning of bins and silos
- Learn operational areas and serve as backup to them
- Understand and follow the Perdue safety policies and procedures
- Perform other tasks as assigned by management
Minimum Education
High School Graduate or GED preferred
Experience Requirements
- 3-5 years experience
- Reading, writing, math and analytical skills
- Knowledge of environmental technologies
- Strong interpersonal skills
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
- Able to move freely throughout the Agribusiness facilities
- climbing vertical heights (0 -150').
- carrying tools and equipment (0-50 lbs.).
- exposure temperatures (0-100) degrees Fahrenheit, humidity (0-100%)
- noise (50db to 100db)
- chemicals (MSDS sheets available).
- Able to communicate on the telephone and use standard office equipment
