Summary
We are actively recruiting for a seasoned L&D leader to join our team based at the Perdue Learning University in Salisbury, MD. The Director of Learning and Development formulates, designs, and implements learning strategies and programs to support (supply chain operations) objectives and accelerates capability throughout the function. The Director simultaneously interacts with the functions and key stakeholders and manages multiple complex and high impact projects that have national, long-range organizational reach. This position aligns the efforts with the overall corporate learning strategies and directly manages external contractors and leads initiatives to achieve learning and development goals.
Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Coordinates with HR and Supply Chain/Operations senior leadership and management to define and prioritize capability development
- Aligns efforts with the overall corporate learning objectives
- Acts as a training liaison between supply chain and operations teams
- Selects, manages external contractors and programs
- Manages portfolio of projects in alignment with strategic functional (Operations) objectives while meeting with key stake holders
- Conducts gap analysis and develops remediation plan
- Designs courses and learning experiences in various modalities including eLearning and instructor-led after performing gap analysis. Measures ROI
- Embeds and formalizes learning for consistency in new hires, onboarding, and various experience and position levels throughout the function
- Facilitates curriculum virtually and in person
- Performs administration of the programs, including COMMS, LMS, Data Analysis
- Measures and reports learning analytics
Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 8-10+ years of related experience:
Experience should include:
- 5+ years relevant business experience with leadership experience preferred
- 3-5+ years of direct learning and development or organizational development experience
- 5+ years of leading project teams and/or staff of developing projects with broad scope and reach
- Demonstrated experience with strategic planning and forging alliances. Leadership in strategic planning for corporate learning solutions. Experience leading complex, cross-functional projects for high business impact in multiple languages. Experience building competency models and aligning learning initiatives to model. Knowledge of industry
- L & D best practices and technologies. Strong business acumen and broad knowledge of business initiatives and indicators and the use of performance consulting and instructional design technologies as well as progressive "best in class" learning strategies to impact business results. Maintains knowledge of current and future trends in learning technologies/media. Partners with business leadership to build effective learning opportunities for all levels of the organization. Plans and executes projects and manages a portfolio of projects on an ongoing basis.

- Budget-Identifying and prioritizing critical components needed to support L & D to establish a budget; monitor progress against budget to ensure balance; teach staff and share budget information.
- Establishing learning metrics-Build a scorecard for learning effectiveness and capability development by function.
