We are looking for future leaders to join us! We are actively seeking a hardworking, energetic, self-starter to join our Live Operations team in Burlington, WA as a Feed Mill Management Trainee. The Perdue Management Trainee is an entry level management position designed to develop talented individuals into future leaders in the company's live operations management field. The Management Trainee will be fully immersed and actively participate in all aspects of Live operations.

Normal Work Schedule - Note: The hours and days of work are established as needed by operations and at the direction of management and, while generally as shown below, may be changed (increased or decreased) by management as required.
- Hours of Work: Generally 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM or as scheduled by management with a one (1) hour lunch period approximately mid shift.
- Overtime may be scheduled as needed and directed by management.
- Days of Works: Normally Monday through Friday as scheduled by management and Saturday, Sunday and/or Holidays if needed by operations and approved by management.
This position has a target base salary of $68,000 - $70,000 and is eligible for comprehensive benefits, as well as relocation support, as applicable.
Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage in a safe and quality manner the feed production and delivery operations, including the litter operation.
- Responsible for Quality and Production requirements.
- Service our customers on time and assure them of a quality production.
- Oversee the feed production from receiving through field placement service.
- Ensure that the feed produced meets nutritional guidelines and that feed is inventoried and delivered as scheduled.
- Oversee housekeeping of the feed mill.
- Develop operating schedule, work, and downtime schedule and conduct parts inventory.
- Communicate daily with customers and inter-company personnel.
- Compile and analyze production reports.
- Interpret and communicate statistical findings to management team members.
- Comply and follow company requirements regarding biosecurity, food safety, and poultry welfare programs and policies at all times.
- Maintain safe working environment.
- Establish goals and project plans; provide budget administration.
- Act in a professional and courteous manner at all times upholding professional and positive work image for self and Perdue Farms.
DECISION-MAKING RESPONSIBILITIES
All decisions related to day-to-day operations within company policy procedures. Any decision of questionable nature would be managed together with the appropriate management.
OTHER POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
This position spends 50 % of a normal workweek supervising other associates.
This position spends 10 % of a normal workweek training and developing other associates.
This position spends 10 % of a normal workweek performing technical analyses and writing reports.
This position spends 30 % of a normal workweek in production or maintenance-related activities.
Experience Requirements
- Strong, reading, math, writing, communication skills (oral and written), computer skills, analytical skills, and a statistic background
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Excellent customer service skills

Minimum Education
- The minimum formal education preferred to be considered for this position is a high school diploma and 3-5 years feed milling experience
- Bachelor’s degree in agriculture related field is preferred and 0-3 years equivalent experience
- Feed Science and Management, Agriculture, Agribusiness Management, Business Administration, Poultry Science, or Animal Science
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
- Position is active on the floor activities such as troubleshooting and re-design of existing systems are routine
- May need to move equipment occasionally
- May need to access files, supplies, and equipment
- Exposed to all seasonal weather conditions
- May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity
- Must be able to climb heights up to 120 feet
- Must be able to operate a forklift
- May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db. to 110 db.
- Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company
