Summary
Perdue Agribusiness has an opening for a Grain Operator at our Hopkinsville, KY facility.
The overall purpose of this position is to operate equipment and maintain facilities involved in the handling, storage, and drying of grain and other products.
Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate grain probe (hand or automated) and grade for all factors
- Operate grain handling equipment to safely & efficiently receive, ship, transfer, and dry grain and other products
- Safely operate powered industrial mobile equipment. Perform inspections & maintenance as required
- Operate hydraulic truck platform hoist. Perform daily inspection, safety checks, and maintenance as required
- Perform housekeeping of all facility areas
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on equipment within the facility
- Perform all work within the safety and environmental guidelines established by local, state, and federal agencies and Company policies
- Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor
Minimum Education
High School or equivalent
Experience Requirements
0 -2 years experience. Reading, writing, math and analytical skills.
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
- Walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting, working with arms above shoulder level
- Able to move freely throughout the AgriBusiness facilities
- Climbing vertical heights (0-150')
- Carrying tools and equipment (0-50 pounds)
- Exposure to temperatures (0-100 Degrees F)
- Humidity (0-100%)
- Noise (50db-100db)
- Grain dust
- Chemicals (MSDS sheets available)
- Must be able to wear protective equipment as required
- May be required to travel to other remote AgriBusiness facilities
