Roadway Design Engineer

VDOT's Salem District is seeking individuals interested in joining our Location and Design section to fill openings for Roadway Design Engineers.

We are seeking qualified candidates who will:

• design, manage and produce construction roadway plans for a wide range of transportation projects using automated engineering and design software
• maintain strong skills in new design technology, project management and construction methodology
• provide direction and coordination for all project design related activities
• develop and review roadway designs
• complete roadway design tasks in MicroStation, OpenRoads, ORD
• complete project management task using a wide variety of software including many MS Office applications and other department specific applications.

VDOT is an emergency response agency, therefore you work outside of normal work hours during emergency operations when services are needed.
